Why is it so important to access our subconscious?

The expertise of the conscious mind is creativity and flexibility. The subconscious mind runs on habits and programming. We believe we are running our lives on the basis of desires and wishes. 

However, our conscious mind is only in control of 5% of our daily actions; 95% of our decisions, actions and behaviours are generated through our subconscious mind. Therefore, science suggests that our subconscious mind is far more influential in our lives than many of us suspect.

If you realise that 95% of your daily habits, reactions, responses and thoughts stem from your subconscious you can safely say the subconscious mind is your force of nature.

Our subconscious mind is a very clever instrument that is able to process up to 2 billion bits of data per second and thus processes thousands of events at the same time. Many processes are automated in our subconscious mind to ensure you run your life as effortlessly as possible. Imagine you would still have to think about how to drive a car every time you step into your car. Once you know how to drive a car, you can drive any car.

Certain belief structures and programs taken from all aspects of our surroundings – such as caretakers, parents, teachers, TV and social media – are realized and “downloaded” onto this metaphorical hard disc in order to create a compass for our lives.

Negative beliefs and subconscious undesired programs are also part of the automated processes, which are wired into our subconscious mind. Your subconscious doesn’t know good or bad. It just plays the tape of what it learned to do for years. Now imagine a trigger that always, even unwillingly, evokes the same response such as anger, frustration, jealousy, addiction or fear. These are all responses that were once programmed into the subconscious mind. Since the brain is a lazy and very energy efficient organ, it will always choose the road of least resistance. If that happens to be one of the aforementioned limiting programs, it is very hard to shift them and change them around with your conscious mind.

Since our conscious mind is only responsible for 5% of processes daily and can only process 2000 bits per second, it is extremely hard to effectuate change with the cognitive mind. Therefore, transformations made on a subconscious level are exponentially more powerful and longer lasting. PSYCH-K®, hypnotherapy and Yoga Nidra are three very strong keys to your subconscious mind. PSYCH-K® is the key to our Sub Conscious

The word PSYCH stands for psyche meaning mind, soul or spirit, where the letter K stands for the word key as in the key to sustainable success. During a session I will help you to unlock the door to your subconscious through Muscle Testing, Whole-Brain Integration and Goal Clarification for the subconscious mind. This approach enables you to communicate directly with your subconscious mind in order to safely and effectively change subconscious beliefs. This process is called a balance, because it creates a balance between the left and right brain hemispheres, which is the ideal state to reprogram the subconscious mind. Click here for neuroscience research about the Whole-Brain State.  In PSYCH-K® we use muscle testing as a way to communicate with your subconscious mind. Our thoughts are of great influence on the tension in our muscles. If a supporting statement or goal is not aligned with the programming in our subconscious, it will show up in the tension of the muscles. If the two hemispheres of the brain are not properly connected, the aforementioned whole brain state, a muscle test will then show a weak response. The aim is to reconnect the two hemispheres of the brain on that specific goal with a balance and to permanently remove the stress.

What is hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. It is a way to bypass the critical mind to establish the selective thinking by lowering the brainwaves. Once this lower brainwave is entered:

The biggest misconceptions about hypnotherapy are that it is scary, you might loose control, you will have memory loss or amnesia, it is only for shows, it is phony.


What is Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, Yogic Sleep, is a meditative state where the state of consciousness is between waking and sleeping and usually induced by a guided meditation. Your body has entered the state of deep sleep whereas your mind is actually awake. It is an ancient technique where a deep state of conscious relaxation is entered. The practice follows a systematic order where the awareness from our external world is gradually moved to our inner world. You will become free from the concepts of time, space and reason and will allow for the body to enter a healing state. In this healing state you are able to clear toxins at a cellular level, refresh the mind and remove programming from the subconscious mind. It is said that one hour of Yoga Nidra practice equals 4 hours of deep sleep. The mental and physical benefits of regularly practicing Yoga Nidra are truly many:

About Hannette

Hannette is trained as a lawyer. After studying Dutch Law at the University of Amsterdam, she exchanged her comfortable and promising career at a large international law firm for a job at the Auction House Christie’s. A strange move, but living in her head was feeling less and less comfortable. After the birth of her eldest son, Hannette opted for full-time motherhood. A voice in her head called her to make this shift, though she couldn’t put her finger on it for years. When she found some of the answers to the questions that had been troubling her for years her quest for a solution became her new goal in life and ambitious as she was she would succeed in this too. It was not for long when she learned about the strong influence of the subconscious on her daily life she sought for a solution to change her own limiting programming. Motherhood turned out to be the most important school in her life. The mainstream approach to parenting soon prompted the occasional exploration of alternatives. She read and spoke a lot about anthroposophy and that is how she came upon the path of the rhythm of nature. But it wasn’t until she came across other modules in Hong Kong that triggered her attention. She read everything she could put her hands on about manifestation laws, neurological manifestation, the subconscious mind and mindfulness. She did the basic mindfulness MBSR training according to the methodology of Jon Kabat-Zinn. She followed her interests and got fully qualified as as a facilitator PSYCH-K® facilitator, a hypnotherapist and a Yoga Nidra instructor.
